We are told the Extreme show is going ahead and although Nuno has to go off almost immediately at first to deal with his pain, he manages to stand up for the first song, although he has a brace on his right knee. After that he is forced to sit, but the crowd know how active he normally is, know about his injury and everyone is really sympathetic. Whilst the band sometimes like to joke about their squabbles, it was in fact lovely to see the brotherhood and support from his band mates with Pat kissing his head and Gary sitting down with him for parts of the set. I can honestly say that, yes the show was different, but I still really enjoyed it. I catch a second dose of The Cruel Intentions in The Star Lounge where it is so packed it was hard to see the stage, although they sounded really good. I catch most of Reckless Love’s set in the Star Lounge.

It really was hilarious to everyone except for the sound engineer. I was trying to fit in another gig, but even though Spike overran I had to stay to hear every word. I started my day with paint class with Adrian Vandenberg. We are meant to be painting Slash, but Adrian goes off freestyle and paints a Pierrot face. I finally get a chance to have time for a good breakfast after not having time to eat properly over the last few days. It seems for me rock music will always win over food, not that I don’t love my food, but it still cannot compete with a line up like this.
I saw Tyketto in Studio B. They are making the absolute best of the fact that with the Pool stage down they have no competition and the show is super full. They sound fantastic, Danny still has a voice like a siren, pure and clear and they are dynamic and exciting to watch. I am surprised to learn that Chris the guitarist and Michael the drummer are leaving the band, but it must have been good for them to go out on a high with their Cruise shows. It was good to hear that the band will carry on, despite the line up change. With the exclusion of Geary, the lineup has remained unchanged. The public on-sale kicked off on Thursday (June 30),with cabins starting at $1,699.00 per person (double occupancy, not including mandatory taxes and fee supplement).

The ship is in Haiti, but I don’t get off the boat, I have visited Labadee when the cruise came here before and Reckless Love are playing their first show in studio B after being rescheduled from the Pool stage due to bad weather.

Apparently some of his young band have been caning the alcohol on the cruise and are really hung over, but props to them you wouldn’t know and they did a great set.

After being tired for the last two evenings I am starting to get used to being on American time and am getting my second wind. Whilst they did not tell us they were planning to retire they did make reference to Jimmy’s health and some issues Steve has been having. He actually looks very well you would never know he had been ill to look at him. I hot foot it to Vandenberg, but they were having technical difficulties, so with the delay I have to get to see Autograph in the Star Lounge, but on the way I see Nuno Bettencourt and get a selfie, everything happens for a reason! Jimi Bell is now established as their guitar player.

I make it to the Lee Aaron photo experience and it is lovely to see her looking stunning in a red leather jacket. I manage to shoot the Chris Holmes show on the Pool Stage. They deliver impressive versions of WASP classics like ‘Love Machine’ but I cannot stay out for the whole set. Bassist Lex Gifford was forced to rip the sleeves off one of his favourite shirts to avoid sunstroke and, as he did not have an alternative to jeans, he was nearly fainting (he didn’t in the end). At this point I haven’t really eaten much for 24 hours, I always lose weight on the cruise!! I hot foot it to see Spike who dedicated ‘Have A Drink’ to Guy Bailey who recently passed.
As soon as Jocke hit the stage with stomping feet, pumping fists and a snarl fit for an insane asylum, it was on! A sleepy crowd that had waited “mostly” patiently for this late starting show were immediately shocked back into life. What a voice this dude has, hitting every ridiculous, sleaze-laden screech.

The set didn’t let up at all and culminated in a finale that had a ton of cruisers joining the band on stage to slug down some Jaeger. I am glad I caught the whole of both of their sets as they announce they won’t be on the Cruise next year. My evening then consists of the lovely smiley Doro delivering a scorching set of her classics and Winger delivering a greatest hits set in the theatre. I so wanted to see the all star Rare Hare show, but my body has given in again and I have to crash. Tesla, another of my favourite bands are brilliant in the theatre. Another amazing band with amazing songs, very nostalgic as they performed under pictures of the band as younger men.
Jimmy the drummer has totally cut off all his hair, from down to his ass to a crew cut. He is totally getting away with being in the wind as a result. A totally enjoyable set includes one of my favourite rock songs ever ’It’s Not Love’. On my way to the Hardcore Superstar Q and A I see Davy Vain by the lift, he is friendly and relaxed. It is surreal to see so many famous faces everywhere you go.
Paul Taylor from Winger joined as a special guest as apparently he was in high school with Davy, who knew that!! There were a few technical difficulties, but it was hit after hit from the first album and he gave the crowd what they wanted from first to last. Plush, Dan Reed Network, Little Angels (Reunion) or Wayward Sons or Toby Jepson solo, Magnum, Those Damn Crows, Tuk Smith and the Restless Hearts, The Pat McManus Band (Former Mama’s Boys guitarist), The Struts, Metal Church and bring back Thunder. As for the probably no chance in hell bands… How about Halestorm, Alter Bridge and The Pretty Reckless. Stephen Pearcy was looking sharp again at his Pool show in top to toe black leather emblazoned with ‘Break Your Heart’. It is such a buzz to see yet more of my favourite rock songs ‘You’re In Love’ and ‘Round and Round’, to name but two, still being played superbly live.
